TCA Instructor Practice Intensive I:
Application of Tai Chi Principles
Principles of slow and continuous movement, weight shifting, and coordination of different parts of the body will be focused on during this practice intensive. All 31 movements will be reviewed and revised. Breathing exercises will be incorporated as well as inner abdominal strengthening.
For intermediate practitioners and Instructors using the essential Tai Chi Principles, as a slow practice, cleansing the mind, loosening the muscles, focusing on precision, body awareness, and weight shifting.
The Essential Principles of Tai Chi will be applied to focus on alignment and mental quietness.
The practice intensives are designed to develop Tai Chi practical skills and remember the 31 forms. Acquire enough understanding and continue to learn from Dr. Paul Lam’s video.
Knee strain - how to avoid it and how to relieve stress. How to avoid injury to the joints by maintaining alignment, toes not to exceed knees, and not to turn the foot while weight is on that foot. Balance awareness, so as to not cause a fall.
In general, the Tai Chi performance should be recognizable and without dangerous movement.
